Translation Program

The program started in 2006 -2007

 A brief background:

The program offers real opportunities to students to develop their abilities in translation and to be qualified to meet the needs of the labor market. This program aspires to benefit from the recent development in translation .It also trains students to use technology in translation.

The Scientific Degree

After four academic years, students graduate with a B.A in translation.

The Intended Leaning Outcomes (ILOs)

By the end of the program, the student will be able to:

  • Understand the nature of the process of translation.
  • Use the different techniques in
  • Display efficiency in conveying language
  • Develop the required skills to produce the professional  translation
  • Acquire skills to analyze and evaluate the oral texts, written texts, conferences and visual and audio material

Regulations of studying at the program

This program is based on credit hours system.

 To graduate Student must complete 128 accredited hours divided into 100hours for obligatory courses and 28hours for optional courses

Every student is allowed to register for 18hours per term.

Admission rules

  • The student should first join the faculty of Arts. Once he joined the faculty, he or she can apply to join the program. If the student meets the conditions set by the program board he or she will be admitted.
  • Students who wish to transfer from different faculties, are allowed to join the new programs
  • Students can transfer from different departments to other departments, and join the program.
  • graduates of the faculties of Arts and Education, English departments, can join the program but they will not be allowed to skip any course they studied before
